Terry Southern has been dead for 17 years. We at Boulder Digital Works didn't think that was a good reason to languish in obscurity, so we set about reviving his renown. If you've seen Dr. Strangelove or Easy Rider, you're familiar with Southern's work. We thought more people should be aware of his contributions to American arts culture.

The first iteration of the online hub, which was debuted at SxSW Interaction '11. Planning the timeline of Terry's life and works. A higher fidelity version of Terry's timeline. It was a bit difficult to stand out at SxSW. Austin was flooded with promotional efforts. We got some press from USA Today. We were written about in the Dallas Observer. An article about Red Dirt Collective appeared in Publishers Weekly. Planning the 420 promotional event in Boulder. I designed and fabricated a cutout for people to take their photos with famous people who were Terry's friends and acquaintances. Terry's there too, of course. I'm sure most of the famous people in this photo would agree... Pig imagery was prominent in much of Terry's work. We thought we could us that to our advantage.
